Rimland Trace is a non-commercial, informational tool that aggregates publicly available data from open sources including government APIs, public RSS feeds, and open data initiatives. It is provided free of charge for situational awareness and informational purposes only.
This dashboard displays data aggregated from third-party public sources including but not limited to: adsb.lol (aircraft, ADS-B; Open Database License 1.0) and adsb.fi (aircraft, ADS-B), hexdb.io (aircraft registrations), AISStream (ships, AIS), USGS (earthquakes), NASA EONET (fires), the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS), MeteoAlarm (data provided by EUMETNET members, CC BY 4.0) and NOAA/NWS (weather alerts), NOAA SWPC (space weather), IODA by the Georgia Tech Internet Intelligence Lab (internet outages), alerts.in.ua (Ukrainian air-raid alerts, via its public API; not an official warning channel), drone and missile reports from the Ukrainian Air Force public Telegram channel (t.me/kpszsu), plus clearly labelled unofficial reports from public monitor channels (t.me/monitorwarr, t.me/war_monitor — not verified, never used for alerts), drone attacks on Russia from public Telegram channels — statements by the Russian Ministry of Defence (t.me/mod_russia), the Moscow mayor (t.me/mos_sobyanin), Rosaviatsia (t.me/favt_info) and the Voronezh and Kursk regional authorities (t.me/gusev_36, t.me/gubernator_46), each one side’s claims, plus clearly labelled unofficial reports from the Ukrainian channel t.me/exilenova_plus (not verified) — all placed on the map using GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) place and airport names, CelesTrak (satellite orbits; underlying data from USSPACECOM via Space-Track.org), Launch Library 2 by The Space Devs (launches), Binance and Yahoo Finance (markets), Planespotters.net (aircraft photos, © their photographers; each photo links to its page) and various public news feeds (headlines and short excerpts with links to the original, e.g. BBC News), Reddit and Telegram channel feeds.

Chokepoint transit counts: International Monetary Fund, PortWatch (AIS-based; shown as 7-day averages compared with the previous year). Aircraft "registered in" markers are derived from ICAO address blocks and indicate the transponder's country of registration only.

News headlines, social media content, and other third-party materials displayed are the property of their respective owners and are presented as brief excerpts with attribution for informational purposes under fair use principles. We do not claim ownership of any third-party content.
Rimland Trace has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. The controller of the small amount of personal data described below is the Rimland Trace Team, reachable at contact@rimlandtrace.com.
Your IP address. Our server sees it with every request and uses it only to limit abuse (requests per minute and live connections per address). It is kept in the server's memory, never written to disk or shared, and is gone when the server restarts. Our hosting providers (Render, with Cloudflare in front of it) process connection data and may keep logs under their own privacy policies. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the service securely (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Settings in your browser. Your layers, news sources, alert words, watch list and “my area” are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device; clearing this site’s data deletes them.
Content your browser loads directly. To draw the map and show media, your browser fetches some content straight from third parties, which then see your IP address: map tiles (Esri, OpenStreetMap, EOX, RainViewer), aircraft photos (Planespotters.net) and images attached to Telegram and X posts. Fonts and code libraries are served from our own server. Posts in other languages are translated into English by our server (using Google Translate), which sends Google only the text of the post, nothing about you.
People mentioned in the feeds. News and posts are third-party public content shown as short excerpts. If something about you appears here and you want it removed, write to the address above.
Your rights. You can ask for access to or erasure of data about you and object to its processing, and you can complain to the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
Flight and vessel tracking data is sourced from publicly broadcast ADS-B and AIS radio signals. This data is legal to receive and display in accordance with applicable telecommunications laws. No private or classified information is accessed or displayed.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
